LeBron James Seeks 7th Straight Finals Appearance

LeBron and the Cleveland Cavaliers have nothing to worry about even though they are on a slump right now. Losing 5 out of their last 7 games, and LeBron publicly challenged the front office to add another play-maker, because in a nut shell he’s saying that him and Kyrie Irving just aren’t enough.

They have a rookie back-up point guard in Kay Felder(Oakland State University). Felder is 5’9, so I’m guessing they just disqualify him and don’t even give him a chance. Iman Shumpert can handle the ball but he’s not a play maker.

The Eastern Conference will be a cake walk as usual. Teams like the Boston Celtics with Isaiah Thomas, Avery Bradley, and Al Horford, and the Toronto Raptors with Demar Derozen and Kyle Lowry might win two games in a seven game series against the Cavs, but realistically they stand no chance. The Cavs have three legit all-star players in LeBron, Kyrie, and Kevin Love who can score 30 points on any given night Not even mentioning the sharp shooter J.R. Smith who can also light it up on anybody. That’s just too much fire power in a weak conference.

A strong argument can be made that the only reason reason why LeBron has been successful on consecutively being in the finals every year is because of the path. LeBron doesn’t have the path of playing Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook, the Spurs, the Clippers, or the Warriors throughout the journey to the finals. The Western Conference path a obviously more difficult, so people need to stop acting like LeBron battles through all-time great teams and players in the east. The toughest team he has probably faced was the 2013 Indiana Pacers.

LeBron is one of the greatest players to ever play in the NBA. Not to discredit his accomplishments, but he has a record of 3-4 in the NBA finals. All loses coming from Western Conference teams. Which says a lot about how LeBron James’ led teams match-up against elite talented teams.

It’s 2017, so either the Golden State Warriors or the San Antonio Spurs will be awaiting LeBron once again in the finals.LeBron has a finals record of 1-2 vs the Spurs and 1-1 vs the Golden State Warriors. His other loss came at the hands of a Dirk Nowitski led Dallas Mavericks teams.

2017 Starts A New Era of A New Era

When it was first noted that President Donald Trump decided to go into politics and run for President, probably 90% of Americans thought it was a joke. A man without political experience, being well-known as a bastardized old wealthy white man who has been a public figure for decades, is running for the chance of becoming the general of the United States of America.

Whether if it was the 2006 famous feud with Actress Rosie O’Donnell, when he called her fat, or twitter tweets of him saying, “Rosie is crude, rude, obnoxious and dumb – other than that I like her very much!”in 2014, or even “Rosie is back on the View which tells you how desperate they must be. It is the standard short term fix and long term disaster.” It is comical that a man with that kind of history is even interested in being the President of an entire country.

Trump has made many offensive remarks at women, African Americans, and even muslims throughout his campaign. He said that blacks should vote for him because they are uneducated, and have nothing else to lose. He threatened to build a wall around the country(which is economically impossible, seeming how much debt the country, including himself are in) to keep illegal immigrants from crossing the border. A noted remark he made towards a woman was calling her a fat, a pig, a slob, and a discussing animal. He later said that some of the remarks he made towards women where just for the sake of entertainment.

With all of that being said, Tuesday Nov. 8, 2016 Donald Trump was elected as the 45th President of the United States by the electoral college, even though the runner up Hillary Clinton won the popular vote. Some individuals went as far as to say that the electing of President Trump felt like they had suffered a death or tragedy of a loved one. The only reliance on Trump’s abilities people can not deny is that he is a very successful business man, even though he owes Russia money. So maybe electing him was a business strategy to get America out of debt. That’s just a bright sideto the entire non-sense.

Russell Westbrook Not Named All-star Starter

Russell Westbrook, an 5x all-star is averaging a career best 30.6 points, 10.6 rebounds, and 10.4 assists per game. If he continues on this pace he will become only the 2nd player in NBA history to average a triple double for an entire season. The other player is hall of fame legend Oscar “The Big O” Robertson. Note that Robertson played nearly 50 years ago in an era when there were only nine NBA teams, the defenses were non existent, and he averaged 44 minutes per game.

Westbrook is averaging 34.6 minutes per game for the 2016-2017 season. Many basketball coaches, players, fans, and analytic gurus call Westbrook the greatest athlete at the point guard position the league has ever seen.

With all of that being said, by the way were pure facts, Westbrook was snubbed once again of another honor. He will not be starting for the Western Conference All-Star team in 2017. Instead,  James Harden and 2x reigning MVP Stephen Curry will be starting.

Harden is averaging 28.9ppg,  8.3rebs, and 11.6asts. Those points qualify him for 2nd in the league to Westbrook, and those assists qualify him 1st. He will probably win the MVP this year seeming that his team have exceeded expectations, number three in the western conference playoffs standings, and while Westbrook and the Thunder are sitting at number seven.

Curry is having a sub-par to his own standards season. Averaging 24 points, 6 assists and 4 rebounds per game. You tell me the issue with that. His team is sitting at number one, but he’s playing with 3 other all-stars on his team. Westbrook is basically carrying his team every night, while remaining an above average team.
